Single media accreditation office to open on 16 March
To make accreditation easier and more efficient for media, the European Parliament is to open a new media accreditation office on 16 March. It will process all accreditation requests, whatever the type of media or the type of accreditation required. The office will be next to the reopened press entrance to the Paul-Henri Spaak building.
Journalists who have an annual accreditation - be it inter-institutional or with the European Parliament only - and who do not need a filming permit, will still be able to access Parliament's buildings via other entrances too.
The office will be in room PHS 00A049, next to the Paul-Henri Spaak building press entrance (rue Vautier) and near the press room. It will open on weekdays from 08.30 to 18.00, but close at 13.00 on Fridays, except those before Strasbourg sessions (until 18.00).
It will bring together staff from DGCOMM’s audiovisual and press units and from the DGSAFE accreditation unit in one place, to speed up and facilitate accreditations and make life easier for journalists.
To avoid delays, we recommend you send your accreditation request at least 24 hours in advance to . Requests for short term accreditation must include your name of your media, family name, first name, date of birth, nationality, official ID number, type of ID document and a photo in the European identity card format, i.e. portrait, aspect ratio 3X4, jpeg format and +/- 100 KB. Filming permits should also be requested from the same office.
The email addresses presse-conf@ep.europa.eu and avaccreditations@ep.europa.eu will remain in use, to ease the transition.
