Antti Timonen, spokesperson for the EPP Group, joins Jennifer Baker to discuss the group’s proposals for EU anti-terrorism measures.

A position paper on the topic by the EPP Group is due to be published at the end of April. This paper will address two key issues: the prevention of radicalisation in prisons and the threat of foreign fighters. According to Timonen, the report will advocate “a harmonised approach among EU Member States”, broader cooperation between Member States, Europol and Eurojust, as well as reinforced security for the European Union’s external borders.

On Tuesday 28 April, the European Commission will present a set of anti-terrorism measures.
