Progress in financial education
Met dank overgenomen van Europees Economisch en Sociaal Comité (EESC) i, gepubliceerd op donderdag 26 februari 2015.
Financial education is of paramount importance to increase financial literacy and financial education that is accessible to everyone will benefit society as a whole. Financial education should be seen as a comprehensive policy in which all stakeholders work together.
The EESC is of the opinion that financial industry itself has an obligation to be actively involved in programmes focusing on both microfinance and education, and in the provision of access to basic financial services.
Against this background ECO section president Joost van Iersel is happy to participate in the launching event of the European Money Week in Brussels, contributing to a panel discussion with the voice of European organised civil society.
