Lénaïc Vaudin d’Imécourt is joined by Utta Tuttlies, spokesperson for the S&D Group, to look into the new anti-terrorism measures announced by EU leaders after the European Council on 12 February. These measures include, among others, establishing the EU Passenger Name Record (PNR) and increasing co-operation to counter terrorism.

In a recent resolution the European Parliament urged the Commission and Member States to rule out the suspension of Schengen and committed to working towards the finalisation of the EU PNR directive by the end of 2015. Furthermore, Tuttlies argues that a better exchange of intelligence could effectively reduce terrorism risks. However, the S&D Group believes that it is crucial to ensure that the new measures do not diminish democracy.
