We congratulate Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici on his appointment and on the formation of the new government. We are looking forward to continuing our cooperation and swiftly implementing our Association Agreement to the benefit of the people. A stable government with a genuine reform agenda will be crucial to this end. We trust that the new government will step up its efforts on key reforms, especially in the justice and financial sectors and on fighting corruption, in the interest of all moldovans. Moreover, continuing and intensifying a broad policy that includes all sectors of the society will be essential.

The EU underlines its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova with a special status for Transnistria and strongly encourages to intensify efforts towards reaching a comprehensive, peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict. The Republic of Moldova is a key associated partner of the European Union. The EU looks forward to continuing the close and successful cooperation with the new government.
