EU asylum system not working, says Swedish MEP

The registration of asylum seekers where they first enter the EU has stopped working, Swedish Liberal MEP Cecilia Wikstrom i told public broadcaster Ekot. Fingerprints are not taken and many arriving to, for example, Italy are allowed to travel further north. "It's time to discuss an alternative system", she said.
