Jennifer Baker is joined by Utta Tuttlies, spokesperson for the S&D Group, to talk about the Parliament’s plenary vote on a resolution on the freedom of press and media in Turkey, taking place on 15 January.

Ongoing arrests of journalists and the decreasing tolerance of critical media by the Turkish government raise great concerns in the European Parliament. The S&D group believes that freedom of speech and media pluralism are at the heart of European values, therefore fundamental rights in Turkey should be improved through stronger engagement with the EU.
