Air pollution costs EU up to €189bn in 2012, says EU agency

Damage sustained by air pollution in the EU, primarily caused by coal-fired power plants, cost society up to €189bn in 2012, reports Reuters. The European Environment Agency published the findings on Tuesday. Its report looked at air pollution impact on health, damage to buildings, reduced agricultural yields, and other factors.
