Senior German politician criticised for Crimea recognition comments

Suggestions made on Wednesday by senior German politician Matthias Platzeck to recognise the annexation of Crimea as a means to help end the conflict in Ukraine were roundly condemned by Germany's foreign minister, reports Reuters. Platzeck is head of the German-Russia Forum business lobby and a former SPD chief.
