Portugal interior minister resigns over corruption allegations

Portugal's interior minister Miguel Macedo over the weekend resigned following an investigation into allegations of corruption on so-called "golden visas", reports the BBC. The visas were handed out to wealthy non-EU nationals willing to invest in Portuguese real-estate. Macedo says he was not involved in the scandal.
