After the informal meeting of the Ministers responsible for tourism and culture, the debate on the synergies between culture and tourisms continues in Naples.

The Forum falls within the framework of the six-month Italian presidency of the Council of the EU and is organised by the European Commission and the Italian Ministry of Culture and Tourism. It is an opportunity to reflect upon and to put forward proposals to uphold economic growth and employment in Europe.

On 30 and 31 October, institutional representatives, experts and players of the sector will exchange views on different topics at the Museum of Capodimonte.

Among the participants to the special session on “Synergies between culture and tourism for growth and employment” there are: Armando Peres, President of the OECD Tourism Committee, Michael O-Leary i, Ryanair CEO, Sergio Arzeni, OECD Director, Martin Siecker, President of the EESC Single Market Section, Peter Debrine, UNESCO World Heritage Centre and Piero Galli, EXPO 2015 Director General.

The discussion continues on the next day and will focus on several topics: Digitalization and Innovation in Tourism, Sustainable mobility and Access to destinations, Training and education in Tourism, Actions to promote Europe as a Tourist Destination.

The conclusions of the different panels will be presented at the closing plenary session scheduled at 3:15 P.M. on Friday 31 in the presence of Pedro Ortun, Director at the DG Enterprise and Industry of the European Commission, and Francesca Barracciu i, Secretary of State to the Italian Culture and Tourism Ministry.
