"Blue day”, the international meeting on blue economy is held on 30 October at Porto di Augusto, Catania, and aims at addressing the main issues related to the sustainable use of marine resources, mostly as a healthy quality food source for the planet.
The event takes place on board “Cavour” ship, moored in Augusta port, contrada Punto Cugno, and gathers European Commission members, European ministers, international delegations and representatives of the maritime sector.
The goal of the meeting is to foster growth and employment through the sustainable use of marine and oceanic resources, whilst still protecting the environment. There will be in-depth sections on energy efficiency (emission control, development of new fuels and engines of water vehicles), renewable energies and maritime clusters that, together with skill development and vocational training, will enhance blue growth.
