Informal meeting of EU Agriculture Ministers from 28 to 30 September

Ministers gather in Milan to discuss food safety

The Informal meeting of the European Agriculture Ministers is held on 28, 29 and 30 September at the conference centre Mico, in Milan. The meeting is chaired by Minister Maurizio Martina and its main topic is food safety: the challenge of the future and the overarching theme of next year’s Expo in Milan.

On this occasion, delegations from the 28 member states have the chance to visit some areas producing excellent Italian agri-food products, such as the Franciacorta wine region, the rice fields in Lomellina and the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato area, which has recently been inscribed in the UNESCO Heritage list.

The informal meeting in Milan will soon be followed by the Agriculture and Fisheries Council (Agrifish), which is scheduled on 13 and 14 October in Luxemburg.
