MEPs to discuss situation in Gaza with UNRWA director

Met dank overgenomen van Europees Parlement (EP) i, gepubliceerd op dinsdag 23 september 2014, 9:17.

The situation in Gaza following the August ceasefire agreement, the need to ensure access for humanitarian workers to the strip, its reconstruction and the need for intra-Palestinian reconciliation are expected to top a Foreign Affairs Committee debate with Robert Turner, Director of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) operations in Gaza on Tuesday. The debate starts at 15:00.

The European Parliament as a whole debated developments in Gaza last week and passed a resolution on Thursday 18 September, in which MEPs called for a more active EU role in the region.
