EU Transport Ministers gather on 16 and 17 September in Milan

Trans-European transport networks (TEN-T) at the heart of the informal meeting

The informal meeting of the 28 EU Transport Ministers, chaired by Minister Maurizio Lupi, is held on 16 and 17 September in Milan. The Commissioner responsible for Transports, Siim Kallas, some mayors of large European cities and the European Coordinators in charge of TEN-T corridors are also participating in the event.

The working lunch is scheduled at 12:45 P.M. on Tuesday 16 September and the invitation to it is extended to citizens coming from different European cities and to Professor Carlo Ratti of MIT in Boston. The discussion will focus on sustainability, mobility and social inclusion in cities. The working lunch will be followed by a press conference of Minister Lupi and the participating mayors.

Planning and Governance of Trans-European Transport Corridors (TEN-T) will be the core of the debate in the afternoon. This section starts at 15:15 P.M. with the opening remarks of Minister Lupi, Commissioner Kallas and the former Vice-President of the EU Commission Henning Christophersen.

On Wednesday 17 September, the focus of the discussion switches to Policies and financing instruments for Trans-European Transport Corridors (TEN-T). The closing press conference of Minister Lupi and Commissioner Kallas is scheduled at 1 P.M.
