Bank bonus probe to be completed by October

Internal market commissioner Michel Barnier i Sunday ordered the EU's banking watchdog to conclude an inquiry by September's end into whether allowances given by banks to increase executive pay breach the EU's bonus rules. The EU capped bonuses at the same level as salary, or twice that amount with shareholder approval.
