Record turnout expected in Scottish referendum

September's independence referendum may attract the biggest turnout in Scotland's history, national party leader Alex Salmond has predicted. But Scotland will stay in the UK according to a YouGov poll, with 55% against and 35% for independence. Only 27% of women back independence, according to a Scottish Social Attitudes survey.
