Tom de Bruijn: Moderator of Europe Lecture 2014

DEN HAAG (PDC i) - The 13th edition of the Europe Lecture will be moderated by Tom de Bruijn i, alderman of The Hague and former permanent representative to the EU.

Mr. De Bruijn has been a topdiplomat and skillful negotiator in the field of European affairs. In his position as director-general European integration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, De Bruijn played an important role in the negotiations on the Treaty of Maastricht (1992) and the Treaty of Amsterdam (1997). Between 2003 and 2011, he served as ambassador for the Netherlands in the function of permanent representative to the EU. Most recently, De Bruijn held the position of special advisor to the European Commission's Task Force for Greece.

Considering his negotiation experience and his wide-spread knowledge about European affairs, Tom de Bruijn will undoubtedly be able to moderate the Europe Lecture in a successful and engaging way.
