Eastern Partnership: statement by the president of the EESC

On the occasion of the ministerial meeting held on the Eastern Partnership on Tuesday 22 July, the president of the European Economic and Social Committee, Henri Malosse, spoke to the assembly.
"Your Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Let us have no doubt: the goal of the European venture is to unite peoples and nations, and not divide them. Of course, I am pleased that the three countries concerned have signed new Association Agreements, but I can only deeply regret the price that the whole of Europe, and all Europeans, have had to pay for it."
