US welcomes new EU sanctions threat

The US has "welcomed" Tuesday's threat by EU ministers to impose economic sanctions on Russia in the wake of the MH17 crash. A State Department spokeswoman said: "The US and Europe will continue to work to ensure that those responsible for the downing of flight MH17 are brought to justice."
