Czechs nominate regional development minister for EU post

The Czech Republic Monday nominated Vera Jourova, its regional development minister, to be its next EU commissioner. Prague wants the regional affairs, insitutional relations, transport or industry dossiers. It is the first country to formally nominate a woman, something set to increase its chances of securing a post it wants.
