Bulgaria wants to join banking union

Bulgaria has indicated it wants to join the European banking union after a bank crisis caused runs on two lenders in June. President Rosen Plevneliev Monday said Sofia would seek European supervision for its banks, reports Reuters. The move would make it the first non-euro-country to join the oversight system.
