EU-Swiss migration hit record levels in 2013 before ban

A record 66,200 EU citizens emigrated to Switzerland in 2013, the highest number since a free movement agreement came into force in 2002, according to the annual report of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economics. Switzerland will impose immigration quotas for EU citizens from 2017, following a referendum in February.
