The Yorkshire-based Drax power station has secured €300 million of EU funding to become the bloc's first large-scale carbon capture storage programme. The project - one of 19 receiving a combined €1 billion - will fuel 630,000 homes. 90% of its CO2 will be permanently stored under the North Sea.
