Barroso says poor bank supervision fuelled Spanish crisis

European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso i on Monday blamed the Bank of Spain for making "very significant errors of supervision" that added to the Spanish banking crisis. Speaking at the Menendez Pelayo University in Santander he said "it is a lie that the problems were caused by the euro".
