Conservatives nominate British MEP to head EU Parliament

The European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group in the European Parliament has nominated UK Tory MEP Sajjad Karim i to be its candidate for European Parliament President. Karim, the first British Muslim to be elected to the Parliament in 2004, says he wants reforms, including scrapping the European Parliament's Strasbourg seat.
