Ireland facing big fine for overclaiming CAP funds

Ireland is facing a fine of between €90m and €180m from the EU for over-claims in Common Agricultural Policy schemes dating back to 2008 , the Irish Independent reports. Agriculture minister Simon Coveney i intends to challenge the fine, which could force further austerity measures in the next Irish budget.
