German anti-euro party applies to join Cameron's EP group

The leader of Germany's anti-euro Alternative fuer Deutschland, Bernd Lucke, has formally applied to join the Tory-dominated European Conservatives and Reformists group in the EP, reports the Financial Times. The AfD, seen as a rival of Merkel's CDU/CSU party alliance, holds seven seats in the European Parliament following May elections.
