Slovak president blames political parties for low turnout

Reacting to Slovakia's 13% turnout for the EU vote, the country's president, Ivan Gasparovic, said it was because political parties are not sufficiently active. He said "MEPs suddenly lose touch with citizens after their election", according to the TASR news agency.
