Schulz congratulates Grybauskaite on re-election as Lithuania leader

European Parliament President Martin Schulz i made the following statement on the re-election of Dalia Grybauskaitė i as President of the Republic of Lithuania:

"I congratulate President Grybauskaitė on winning the second-term in office. She has proved to be a reliable and constructive leader in the European Union and a strong president, leading the country through the economic crisis.

I wish President Grybauskaitė all the best in meeting the tough challenges ahead ranging from keeping the economy on a recovery path to ensuring the sense of security among citizens who feel threatened by the high tensions in the region.

I am confident that Lithuania's expected entry into the euro zone will contribute to the feeling of safety and prosperity."
