Conferentie over voorbereiding meerjarig financieel kader 2014-2020 (en)

The National Paying Agency (NMA) in cooperation with the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre will hold MARS (Monitoring Agricultural Resources Unit) conference in Vilnius on December 3-4. Over 200 participants from the European Commission, European Union (EU) paying agencies and from other institutions will gather there.

Specialists responsible for the control of projects supported by the EU funds, for the supervision of undertaken commitments’ implementation will take part at the international conference. Ensuring proper control of EU support utilisation is among the provisions specified for every member state which is striving to absorb the EU funds. The NPA employees therefore execute tens of thousands of inspections on an annual basis.

One of the core issues will be discussed during the conference - preparation for the upcoming financial perspective 2014-2020. Being on the threshold of the new period of support administration the paying agencies have to seek answers to a lot of questions, related to applicable tools of control, its methodology, including introduction of optimal measures for conducting on-the-spot checks of projects under implementation. MARS conference is the event during which the experts will have a possibility to share experiences and find common solutions.

MARS conference takes place once a year in a different EU member state. This conference is organised in Lithuania for the first time.

The conference is one of the official events of the Lithuanian Presidency i of the European Council.
