Photos from heritage projects winners of the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards will be on show from 5 until 20 December in Berlaymont, Brussels.

The exhibition will include 33 heritage projects from as many countries, winners of the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards during the period 2002-2013. This Prize seeks to highlight excellence in four categories: restoration; research; dedicated service; and education, training and awareness-raising.

Commissioner Vassiliou and Plácido Domingo, President of Europa Nostra will open the exhibition in the presence of President Barroso on 5 December, at 17:30. The photos will be showcased in the Berlaymont building (European Commission's headquarter) in Brussels, on the first floor.

The exhibition is part of a series of events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Europa Nostra, including the conference "Cultural Heritage for Europe, Europe for cultural heritage".

On the same day, both Commission Vassiliou and Plácido Domingo will also attend a Citizens' Dialogue at Bozar in Bruxelles organised by the European Commission Representation in Belgium, in cooperation with Europa Nostra and Bozar. The debate will focus in particular on the role of culture as a catalyst for European integration. The audience will be invited to vote on a number of issues, and have the opportunity to raise questions directly in the room, as well as via Twitter and Facebook. The event will be followed by a concert "European Inspirations" featuring four singers from across Europe.
