Symposium jeugdbeleid in Yerevan, Armenië: de rol van jeugdwerk in onderwijs voor democratisch burgerschap en participatie (en)

The EU-Council of Europe youth partnership organised with the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of Armenia, SALTO Resource Centre for Eastern Europe and Caucasus, and the European Youth Forum the Symposium on youth policy. The event, which took place from 13-14 November 2013, was opened by the Armenian Minister for Sport and Youth Affairs, Mr Arsen Karamyan, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Mr Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, the Head of the EU Delegation in Armenia, Mr Traian Hristea, and the Head of the Council of Europe's office in Yerevan, Mr Oleksandr Pavlyuk.

The symposium brought together about 60 key stakeholders, such as policy-makers, researchers, youth workers, representatives of youth organisations and young people from the Member States of the Council of Europe and the EU, the Eastern Partnership countries, the Russian Federation, the European Commission, UNESCO and UNFDPA. The aim of the symposium was to better understand and promote the role of youth work in education for democratic citizenship and participation.
