Conferentie over ontwikkeling digitale overheid in de EU (en)
On 14-15 of November, in Vilnius, Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Center LITEXPO, the high level e-Government conference, the purpose of which is to evaluate the current European Union (EU) policy and its implementation measures in the e-Government area and to formulate the roadmap for organization of the sustainable development of e-Government process within the financial framework for 2014-2020.
The conference, called “Where are we, where we are going”, will gather the representatives from the EU Member States, candidate countries, European Eastern Partnership countries and the USA.
e-Government has already for some time been recognized as one of the key instruments in the creation of open, agile and collaborative public administration that is capable to resolve the global challenges, and sustain the national and regional competitiveness under the current conditions of political, economic, social and technological uncertainty. Otherwise, majority of ICT-based projects implemented in public sector experience negative influence of various environmental, organizational and technological factors. Due to it, their final product is presented later than it was planned, exceeds the estimated budget, does not meet the set goals and is critically evaluated by final users.
With consideration of the problems mentioned, the participants of the conference will evaluate the current situation of e-Government development the EU and will seek for joint decisions how to overcome the arising obstacles in such areas as implementation of real qualitative changes of public sector, ensuring cyber security, development of interoperability framework, effective applying of the tools increasing openness of the government to society, decreasing the digital divide, application of reliable tools for evaluation and management of e-Government development process.
