The European Parliament will discuss the case of the "Arctic 30" Greenpeace activists detained in Russia on piracy charges with the Commission and the Council on Wednesday afternoon in Strasbourg. Russian authorities seized their ship on 19 September, after their protest action against a Gazprom-owned oil platform to prevent drilling in the arctic Barents Sea.
