SPD-leider Steinbrück stapt op (en)

Peer Steinbrueck, who lost the chancellor battle with Angela Merkel i in last week's German election, told a party convention on Friday he will quit front-line politics. A majority of the SPD's 200 delegates at the meeting voted in favor of entering talks with the CDU.
