Reactie EP-voorzitter Schulz op geweld in Egypte (en)

Commenting on the latest developments in Egypt, the President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz i stated:

"The casualties reported in Cairo this morning are not acceptable. I strongly condemn any violent intervention by the police forces against the supporters of former president Morsi.

I'm calling on the current government to ensure that all Egyptian people, regardless of their political views are allowed to demonstrate peacefully. It's the government's responsibility to find a peaceful and fair solution to the current crisis towards an inclusive political process and reconciliation."
