Italian PM Letta i has told press the EU needs a "different" approach to migrants in light of numerous arrivals to Mediterranean states, adding that the 2014 Italian and Greek EU presidencies will make the issue "central" to their work. Brussels gave Italy €202mn in 2010-2012 to help with the situation.
