Informele bijeenkomst over plattelandsontwikkeling op 25-26 juli (en)

On July 25-26 an informal meeting of the Directors of Rural Development will be held in Lithuania - a traditional event within the European rural development policy in the Member State, holding the EU Presidency. During the meeting a conference on “The implementation of the Rural Development Programme for Lithuania 2007-2013 and the new financial perspective 2014-2020: innovation and cooperation opportunities” will take place.

The participants will have an opportunity to share the views on the best practices of Lithuanian farms which received the EU financial support for rural development.

The discussion on the first day will focus on the promotion of innovations through European Innovative Partnership (EIP). The participants will discuss the challenges and the main instruments supporting innovation in the agricultural sector and rural development and the best practices while implementing the Rural Development Programme for Lithuania 2007-2013.

The directors will discuss a number of aspects of rural development policy for the new financial period 2014-2020. The main topic will be devoted to the key challenges and instruments facilitating innovations in agriculture and rural development, examines ways that co-operation can contribute to development of competitive and sustainable agriculture. The meeting will present review of implementation of co-operation instruments in different EU Member States, spread of the best practice and discuss practical issues related to implementation of the means.

On the second day the directors of rural development will visit a number of interesting sites and will be introduced to the best practices of Lithuanian farming, the use of EU funding of rural development for 2007-2013.
