The EU commissioner for regional policy Johannes Hahn i participates in a debate on regional policy, dubbed “EU Regional Policy: a Motor for Growth or Waste of Money?”
The debate, organised at the commission’s Berlin Representation offices together with the eurosceptic think tank Open Europe Berlin, will address the use of cohesion funding, that constitute more than one third of the EU’s total budget in its recently adopted 7-year budget or MFF. The European Commission is convinced that regional policy makes a big difference in many regions across the EU, stresses Ahrenkilde Hansen.
