Ierse vicepremier leidt gesprekken over nieuwe meerjarenbegroting (en)
The Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Eamon Gilmore T.D., will tomorrow (Tuesday 28 May) lead a further round of negotiations with the European Parliament on the EU’s 960 billion euro multi-annual financial framework, the MFF.
The Tánaiste, chair of the General Affairs Council, will represent member states in the three way ‘trilogue’ talks with representatives of the European Parliament and the European Commission throughout Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Speaking ahead of the talks the Tánaiste said:
"I look forward to getting into detailed negotiations with the European Parliament. The time has come to get down to business on the key issues.
I remain convinced that we can, with sufficient good will on all sides, reach agreement on the multi-annual budget by the end of June."
