Pristina, 14 March 2013 A

Statement by EU High Representative Catherine Ashton i at the end of her visit to Pristina in the framework of the EU-facilitated dialogue

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the Commission issued the following statement today:

"In Pristina today I had the pleasure of meeting President Jahjaga, Prime Minister Thagi and several Kosovo party leaders for consultations in the context of the EU-facilitated dialogue for normalisation of relations between Serbia and Kosovo. We reviewed progress in the dialogue so far and had an open and extensive discussion on a number of issues.

We spoke in particular about the implementation of the agreements already reached and about the need to finalise discussions and reach agreements on the open issues, notably on northern Kosovo, as soon as possible. I will facilitate the next round of the dialogue with PM Thagi and PM Dacic on 20 March in Brussels.

In line with the December 2012 Council Conclusions, I will report back to the Council on the agreements reached and the work underway to implement them in April."
