Daniela Buruiana benoemd tot lid Roemenië bij Eurojust (en)

On 13 December 2012, the Minister of Justice of Romania, HE Mona-Maria Pivniceru, announced the appointment of Ms Daniela Buruiană as the new National Member for Romania at Eurojust. In accordance with Article 2(1) of the Eurojust Decision, the appointment requires the approval of the Secretary General of the Council of the European Union.
Ms Buruiană has 14 years’ experience working as a prosecutor at different levels within the Romanian Prosecution Service. For the past eight years, Ms Buruiană has worked within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice-Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism. In this role, she has carried out the investigation and prosecution of serious organised crime, especially drug trafficking-related cases. Ms Buruiană has significant experience in international judicial cooperation in criminal matters.
Ms Buruiană replaces Ms Elena Dinu, Eurojust’s first National Member for Romania, who left Eurojust in December 2012. Ms Buruiană arrived at Eurojust on 17 January 2013.
Ms Buruiană said the following about her posting to Eurojust: “I consider my appointment to Eurojust as an important step forward in my professional career and a great opportunity to use my experience and expertise, acquired in the field of investigating organised crime cases and international judicial cooperation, for enhancing judicial cooperation among the Romanian authorities, other Member States and Eurojust.”
