EU-meeting onderhandelingen Kosovo en Servië (en)

On Thursday 17 January High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the Commission Catherine Ashton i, met with Prime Minister Dačić and Prime Minister Thaçi for the fourth time to discuss the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina.

After the discussions Catherine Ashton issued the following statement:

"This evening Prime Minister Dačić, Prime Minister Thaçi and I held our fourth meeting in the framework of the EU-facilitated high-level dialogue for the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina.

We had another long and constructive discussion. We agreed to meet for an intensive dialogue in February, in which we hope to make significant progress on issues we have identified in line with the December 2012 conclusions of the Council of the EU.

Building on the agreement on IBM reached at our last meeting on 4 December 2012 and its subsequent implementation at four crossing points, the two Prime Ministers today came to a provisional understanding on the collection of customs duties, levies and VAT."
