Commemorative stamp from An Post launched by Taoiseach and Tánaiste to mark Ireland’s EU Presidency

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny i TD and the Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore TD have launched the special commemorative stamp for Ireland’s EU Presidency which is to go on sale tomorrow (Thursday 17th January 2013). It features the Presidency logo which was selected a year ago by the general public in an online poll.

The stamp was presented to the Taoiseach and Tánaiste in Government Buildings by An Post CEO Donal Connell. The 55c stamp will be available from tomorrow (Thursday 17th January 2013) online at www.irishstamps.ie and at Dublin’s GPO Stamp Shop, as well at main post offices around the country. There will also be a special First Day Cover, priced at one euro.

The stamp is the work of Irish-based illustrator, Steve Simpson, and is based on the official Presidency logo which was designed by RED DOG, design consultants for all the Presidency branding.
