Ierse premier presenteert 16 januari prioriteiten Iers voorzitterschap in het EP (en)

The Taoiseach will make the keynote speech in the European Parliament on Wednesday 16 January in Strasbourg to present the Irish Presidency programme and priorities.

The Taoiseach will focus on Ireland’s priorities of Stability, Jobs and Growth and the importance of working closely with the European Parliament and its members, as the democratically elected representatives of European citizens. The Taoiseach will also reflect on the challenges currently facing the EU.

President of the Commission José Manuel Barroso i will speak after the Taoiseach followed by political group leaders and MEPs. In his closing remarks, the Taoiseach will respond to questions raised during the debate.

The debate will be followed by a joint press conference by the Taoiseach, the President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz i and the President of the Commission. Media accreditation is required and can be arranged online.
