There is an "emergency social situation" in some EU member states, commission president Barroso admitted in an interview with Norwegian media ahead of the Nobel ceremony in Oslo. "But it is not the European Union’s fault," he said, urging the Greek opposition to organise demonstrations against Greek tax-evaders.
