Statement by High Representative Catherine Ashton i on the continuation of the EU-facilitated dialogue

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the Commission issued the following statement today:

"I have met today in Brussels Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and Prime Minister Hashim Thagi, with a view to continuing the EU-facilitated dialogue. Today's meetings follow up on my recent meetings in New York with President Nikolic and PM Thagi.

After meeting them separately, I chaired a joint meeting in my office which was conducted in a good and constructive atmosphere. We agreed to continue the dialogue for the normalisation of relations between the two sides and both committed to working together. We will meet again soon.

I firmly believe that the dialogue is in the interest of both sides. Its objective is to improve the lives of people and help solve problems and, in so doing, bring Serbia and Kosovo closer to the European Union."
