Cypriotische minister van Buitenlandse zaken naar IJsland voor toetredingsbesprekingen (en)
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Dr. Εrato Kozakou- Marcoullis will visit Iceland on Sunday September 16, to discuss the country’s European perspective.
Dr. Marcoullis, in her capacity as chair of the General Affairs Council of the European Union, responsible for enlargement, will hold meetings with Icelandic officials with whom she will extensively discuss the country’s EU accession process.
During her two-day stay in Iceland, the Foreign Affairs Minister will meet the Prime Minister of Iceland, Ms Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir i, while she will also be received by her Icelandic counterpart, Mr. Össur Skarphéðinsson.
The two ministers will focus their discussions on the importance which the Cyprus Presidency attributes to EU’s enlargement, and to the further advancement of Iceland’s European perspective. Their meeting will be followed by a press conference and a lunch.
Dr. Marcoullis will also have meetings with the Minister of Industries and Innovation, Mr. Steingrímur J. Sigfússon, the Head of the EU Delegation to Iceland, Ambassador Timo Summa and Iceland’s Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee.
Minister Marcoullis will depart Iceland on Tuesday, September 18.
