Cypriotisch voorzitterschap neemt deel aan plenaire sessies van Europarlement (en)

The EU Budget for the year 2013, along with several other crucial issues concerning the EU will be discussed during the European Parliament’s Plenary Session which takes place between September 10 and 13 in Strasbourg. On behalf of the Council, the Cyprus Presidency will intervene on some of the key issues via its Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Ambassador Andreas D. Mavroyiannis.

Deputy Minister Mavroyiannis will make interventions on four key issues that will be discussed during the Plenary: the 2013 EU budget, the Fisheries Policy, the State of the Union and the political situation in Romania.

On Tuesday, September 11, 2012, the Deputy Minister will present the position of the Council on the draft general budget for the financial year of 2013. On the same day, he will also participate on behalf of the Council, in the debate on issues related to Fisheries Policy.

On the third plenary day on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, the President of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso will make his annual State of the Union address in the Plenary. Following this, the Cypriot Deputy Minister will also intervene in the debate, on behalf of the Cyprus Presidency. Ambassador Mavroyiannis will also make a statement on behalf of the Council about the political situation in Romania.
